Academic Background:
Dr. Goudar after completing his B.Sc in Physics and M.Sc in Human Physiology did his Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science from Karnataka University. He also obtained Associateship in Documentation and Information Science from DRTC/ISI in 1979 and his PhD in 'Library and Information Science' from Karnataka University.
Experience:
He started his career as a Scientific Assistant at CFTRI, Mysore during 1977. Then he moved to L&T, Bombay for a short period of one year as Supervisor-Documentation. He served Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, one of the CSIR organization for nearly 12 years as Scientist-Information. He was on deputation as Deputy Librarian at IIT, Chennai for a period of one year. Since 1992 he has been serving as Head of Information Centre (ICAST) of NAL, Bangalore.
Honours and Awards:
1. Fulbright Fellowship : In L&IS- 6 months at University of Ann Arbor and 2 months at
(June 1995 – Feb. 1996) Columbia University, New York.
2. British Council Scholar : Visited over 60 institutions / libraries in England and Scotland.

Mr. Goudar has delivered more than 200 invited lectures in various Conferences / Workshops / Refresher Courses / Department of Library and Information Science at various universities including:

Conference / Seminars:
Mr. Goudar has attended a number of international and national seminars / conferences. Apart from presenting papers he has chaired a good number of sessions during these events.
