do I get a library card? |

member of NAL may be enrolled as the registered member of the

Who
are authorized to use the ICAST? |
| A |
All
researchers, scientists and staff of the Institute are authorized
to use the Library. However, for availing the borrowing facilities,
users need to enroll themselves as Library members on fulfilling
the requisite procedures. For more details see Library
Membership. |

How
can an outsider use ICAST, The NAL Library? |
| A |
Individuals
affiliated to corporate bodies like industries, can use the Library
as Corporate Members. However, in special cases, individuals like
retired scientists, academicians etc. may contact the Head for
seeking permission for a limited numbers of days. |

Can
a bound volume of journal be issued to a member? |
| A |
Yes,
bound volumes of journals can be issued to the scientists and
research scholars for overnight. For late returns, a
nominal amount be charged per day as applicable. |

a current (unbound) issue of journals be issued to a Library member
? |
| A |
Yes,
current (unbound) issue of journals are issued for a couple of
days and fine is imposed
for late returns. |

How
can I recommend subscription to a new journal in the Library |

An
authorized user can send your request for subscription to a new
journal through your Head of the Division. It may, however, be
noted that the Library can subscribe to only a limited number
of journals for a given Division from the funds allocated to the
respective Divisions from the total budget of the Library. |

can I recommend a book for purchase in the Library? |

An
authorized user can recommend a book for purchase by filling-in
a "Book recommendation Form" that can be obtained from
the Book Acquisition Division. Or a request through online
should then be routed through your Head of the division for his
recommendation. |

I bring my personal books or other reading materials to the Library? |

Usually,
readers are discouraged to bring their personal books or other
reading materials to the Library. However, they can, bring their
personal materials with prior permission to the segregated portion
of the Library Reading Room at the Ground Floor and make an entry
at the circulation desk which has been canceled by the authorized
person. |

there a Lost and Found Section in the Library? |

Yes,
the Circulation Desk, at the entrance to the Library, is our Lost
and Found area. You may contact the person/security staff on duty. |
