AEROACOUSTICS
The Aeroacoustics Branch is part of the Fluids Mechanics and Acoustics Division(DF) at Langley. The branch is under the
largest division at LaRC due to the recent reorganization. The CFD/Aeroacoustics Laboratory provides software and hardware support for basic and applied research in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Computational Aeroacoustics; academic support is provided for graduate and undergraduate courses and projects. Engineers are trying to better understand and duplicate the aerodynamics and acoustics of the human voice, in part to help prevent profound changes to the voice after surgeries on the throat.
